Office Depot guarantees 30-minute in-store, curbside pickup

Office Depot and Office Max stores have improved their fulfillment times.

Office Depot, a subsidiary of The ODP Corp., is offering 30-minute in-store and curbside pickup at its namesake and OfficeMax stores nationwide. If the order is not ready within 30 minutes, customers will receive $5 off their next qualifying purchase.

Customers can take advantage of the free service by placing a qualifying order online at Office Depot’s website or via its mobile app. The order must be placed at least two hours before the store’s closing time.

Earlier this month, Staples made an unsolicited $1.0 billion bid to buy the consumer business of ODP Corp., including its approximately 1,100 Office Depot and OfficeMax retail stores.

“As work models and learning environments continue to evolve, customers are looking for solutions to meet their school and business needs in near real-time to maintain productivity,” said Kevin Moffitt, chief retail officer for Office Depot. “We are making a promise to our customers that online and mobile orders will be available for in-store and curbside pickup in 30 minutes – guaranteed. By improving our fulfillment time from one hour to 30 minutes, we are reinforcing our commitment to speed and convenience.”
