Hudson’s Bay enhances customer health, safety with in-store UV sanitizing tech

Hudson’s Bay is adding a new tool that builds on the in-store health and safety protocols it has already put in place to protect customers.

Select Hudson’s Bay locations across Canada have installed CleanSlate UV Sanitizers, which use medical-grade UV rays to sanitize objects such as cell phones, wallets, keys and bank cards in only 20 seconds. The touch-free devices have been installed at key store entry and exit points.

“The health and safety of our customers and associates is at the forefront of everything we do, and we are continually looking at ways to enhance the in-store experience and build trust with our loyal customer base,” said Kerry Mader, chief customer officer, Hudson’s Bay. “With the introduction of Canada’s fastest, most effective UV sanitizers in our stores across the country, customers can feel confident knowing that creating the safest possible shopping environment is our top priority.” CleanSlate’s UV Sanitizers are proven to be effective in eliminating at least 99.999% of harmful bacteria found on common handheld items, the company said, with no harmful chemicals.

“While we are all washing our hands more frequently, we still handle our cell phone continuously throughout the day,” said Taylor Mann, CEO and co-founder of CleanSlate UV. “Keeping our devices clean helps keep our hands clean. This technology is a fast and easy way to reduce bacteria and viruses and help keep Canadians healthy.”
