PepsiCo (NYSE:PEP) may announce another tweaking of Diet Pepsi this week, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The company introduced a new version of Diet Pepsi last year which was reformulated with sucralose.
Data from Nielsen indicates that sales of Diet Pepsi fell 12% Y/Y over a 12-week period ending in May, compared to a 7% fall across the broad diet soda category.
Some beverage industry watchers think a complete rebranding away from the «diet» title may be needed to reconnect with older consumers and bring in younger ones.
