USA: No question Starbucks is a leader in LEED
Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX) says it now has 1,000 LEED-certified stores open globally as it keeps sustainability a top corporate goal. LEED is ratings system set up by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The company’s LEED footprint makes up 20% of all retail stores with the environmental-friendly designation.

The green commitment from the Seattle-based chain doesn’t appear to have come at the expense of shareholder returns. SBUX has doubled up the return on the S&P 500 Index over the last five years.
