We all knew this was coming. Google couldn’t just sit back and watch Apple and Samsung dominate the smartphone market. There has to be room for another party’s candidate in the debate that’s trying to win over our palms.

With the launch of Pixel and Pixel XL phones, the tech company is betting on hardware paired with Google Assistant, a sophisticated artificial intelligence personality strengthened by the company’s namesake search engine, which supposedly makes it way smarter than Siri.

The company also announced the upcoming release of Google Home Assistant, a direct competitor to Amazon’s Echo device, because Google wants to pick a fight with all tech giants at one time.
