Canada: Roots Partners with Air Canada to Launch High-Flying Shopping Experience
Roots, the internationally renowned Canadian lifestyle brand, announces a seasonal retail partnership with another global Canadian brand, Air Canada, to help make holiday shopping online even more convenient.
Passengers on all Wi-Fi-enabled Air Canada flights within North America during the busy holiday retail and travel season will be able to shop roots.com for free during the duration of their flight. roots.com is optimized for mobile devices adding even more convenience for travelers.
“As a proud Canadian retailer and an international ambassador of Canadian heritage, Roots is thrilled to be working with our nation’s iconic air carrier to create a unique shopping experience at 36,000 feet,” says Jim Gabel, CEO and President of Roots.
Between November 23rd, 2016 and December 31st, 2016, Air Canada passengers on Wi-Fi-enabled flights within North America will be able to shop the entire roots.com site for free using Gogo®, Air Canada’s in-flight Wi-Fi service. This includes Roots signature holiday offerings such as the Cabin Collection, outerwear and all Canadian-made leather goods, bags and footwear.
At checkout, customers will be able to choose from two delivery options: free shipping on orders over $50 to any destination within North America, or they can take advantage of the Roots Click and Collect system which allows a customer to choose from any Roots location in North America for easy pick-up for, except during peak promotional periods like Black Friday.
“Most Click and Collect orders are processed and ready to be picked up within four hours of the order being placed,” says James Connell, VP of Marketing and Ecommerce. “That means passengers on transcontinental flights could have their order ready and waiting for them at their selected Roots store before they land.”
The Roots in-flight retail activation is especially convenient for holiday gift giving since presents can be purchased during a flight and either picked up at the destination or delivered directly to the recipient. There’s no need for packing, lugging and checking extra baggage.
To promote the partnership, the Roots Holiday Gift Guide that was photographed in beautiful Prince Edward County in eastern Ontario will be made available at Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver and a Roots advertisement will be prominently featured in the December issue of Air Canada’s in-flight magazine, Air Canada enRoute, as well as online on Gogo®.
This first-ever partnership goes live online on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 and runs toSaturday, December 31, 2016 on all Wi-Fi-enabled Air Canada flights within North America.
