Finanzas: Report: Amazon Acquires Biba Systems For Video Messaging
Internet retailer and enterprise services giant Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has apparently acquired video communications tool startup Biba Systems for an undisclosed amount, according to a GeekWire report.
Transaction amount and terms on the ‘stealth’ deal are unknown.
Amazon could use the technology in a number of ways, making it a potential addition to its AWS service, gaming offering Twitch and for internal purposes.
We’ll possibly learn more in the coming week at the annual AWS re:Invent conference.
San Francisco-based Biba was founded in 2012 by CEO Carlin Wiegner and co-founders Adam Marks, Eric Yoo, Aaron Gowatch and John D’Alessio.
The company has created a ‘mobile-first’ video conferencing and messaging app aimed at business users.
